Welcome to Passionate About Pilates

Passionate About Pilates is a small and friendly mat class in Cholsey, Oxfordshire.

Classes are held in Cholsey by me, Emma Green, an OCR qualified and insured instructor.

What is Pilates and what does it do?

Pilates is unique because it systematically exercises all the muscle groups in your body, paying particular attention to the weaker muscles. Aiming to create a natural balance, suppleness and strength. Pilates offers a different way of thinking about your body. It is an excellent preventative technique that will strengthen your body against possible injury. It does this by developing good posture and a stronger core. It uses smooth, flowing movements to gently stretch muscles, pulling them into leaner, longer toned shapes. The exercises increase mobility and flexibility, also strengthening ligaments and joints.

Who is Pilates for?

Pilates is suitable for all ages, abilities and levels of fitness as well as pre or post natal women. Even if you have had a break since last exercising or have not ever had an exercise routine before, Pilates is a great place to start. Pilates can be used in conjunction with all types of sports i.e. runners, athletes, dancers, and all other disciplines. It compliments them by improving their performance.

What are the benefits of Pilates?

Pilates aims to give you flatter, stronger abdominals which will provide stability around the bodies core in order to protcet the lower back. This will result in a healthy well supported back. Pilates restore posture and alignment which will allow your body to function more normally. Pilates will make you more aware of your body, how it moves, developing better co-ordination and balance. The calming atmosphere, gentle music and breathing techniques will release any tension and stress leaving you feeling relaxed.
